Chiefmate/Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO)
Job Description
The Chief Mate/Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator (SDPO) ensures safe and precise navigation and control of the vessel using dynamic positioning (DP) systems. The role also involves coordinating deck, crane, and supply vessel operations, maintaining clear communication, and ensuring compliance with operational and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate DP systems, manual controls, and joysticks to maintain the vessel’s position and heading during offshore operations.
- Maintain effective communication with other vessels, aircraft, and internal teams, including the engineering, electrical, and deck departments.
- Monitor and coordinate deck, crane, gangway, helicopter, and supply vessel operations.
- Respond to any activities that may impact DP operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
Skill & Experience
- STCW Deck Officer Certificate Class 2 / STCW II/2 – Chief Officer Certificate.
- General Radio Operator Certificate (GOC) / GMDSS Certification.
- Unlimited DP Certificate for DP vessels.
- IMO A891 Barge Supervisor Certificate.
