Job Description
The Electro Technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for managing and maintaining the electrical and electronic systems onboard vessels, ensuring their optimal functionality and compliance with safety standards. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading shipboard systems critical to operations and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems, including power generation, distribution, and control systems.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of crane and lifting equipment electronics.
- Ensure proper functioning of navigation, communication, and automation systems.
- Inspect and service high-voltage systems and switchboards.
- Perform regular maintenance and keep accurate records of all electrical operations.
- Comply with STCW and vessel-specific safety protocols.
Skill & Experience
- Minimum 8 years as an ETO on offshore crane vessels.
- ETO Certificate of Competency (COC).
- STCW training for officers.
- T-BOSIET (OPITO approved) and OPITO H2S certification
