Prepare and serve meals onboard vessels, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality while meeting the dietary needs of crew members.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare balanced meals for the crew, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and food storage areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage provisions to avoid shortages or waste.
- Ensure compliance with maritime food safety standards and regulations.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of galley equipment.
- Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures while at sea.
Skill & Experience
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a marine or offshore environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
- Ability to plan menus and manage inventory efficiently.
- Valid certifications such as STCW Food and Catering Safety, Basic Safety Training, or equivalent.
- Strong teamwork and adaptability to working in confined spaces.
