Job Description

Prepare and serve meals onboard vessels, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality while meeting the dietary needs of crew members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare balanced meals for the crew, considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and food storage areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage provisions to avoid shortages or waste.
  • Ensure compliance with maritime food safety standards and regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of galley equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures while at sea.

Skill & Experience

  • Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a marine or offshore environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification preferred).
  • Ability to plan menus and manage inventory efficiently.
  • Valid certifications such as STCW Food and Catering Safety, Basic Safety Training, or equivalent.
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability to working in confined spaces.
